Localisation

Localisation represents a growing percentage of the translation industry. Beyond translating contents, it means adapting a brand product or service to a foreign market.

Localisation generally refers to two different concepts:

1. Website Localisation
2. Software Localisation

1. Website Localisation

Website Localisation implies translating the information contained in a website into the language spoken on a given market, but it can also mean changing the look-and-feel of the product to make it more attractive/suitable to the target customers.

2. Software Localisation

Localising software is a relatively straightforward process. As a technical product, it is less likely to have any cultural implications. Where the localisation process is largely linguistic and technical, it can readily become part of the translation process through the use of standard software language glossaries.
